Grabówka, Kędzierzyn-Koźle County

Sackenhoym (Polish: Grabówka ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Sackenhoym located in the municipality Birawa in powiat Kędzierzyńsko - Kozielski ( county Kędzierzyn - Cosel ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Sackenhoym is located three kilometers east of the parish seat Birawa, 10 kilometers southeast of the county town of Kędzierzyn -Koźle ( Kędzierzyn - Cosel ) and 50 kilometers southeast of the Opole voivodship.

History

The town was founded as a colony in the second half of the 18th century. 1774, the colony was first mentioned as a colony Sackenhoym.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 73 voters to remain in Germany and 109 for Poland. Sackenhoym remained with the German Reich. By 1945, the place was in the district of Cosel.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Grabówka and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the newly founded city of powiat Kędzierzyńsko - Kozielski. On 23 April 2007, the German Grabówka was in the community Birawa, plays, introduced as a second official language.

On 10 January 2011, the City also received the official German place names Sackenhoym.
