Gračanica, Ljubovija

Gracanica (Cyrillic: Грачаница ) is a village in western Serbia, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Geography and population

The village lies in the Opština Ljubovija in Okrug Mačva. The place had in the census of 2002 465 inhabitants, while there were 1991 536 inhabitants. After the last three population statistics, the population continues to fall. The population make 100% Serbs. The village consists of 160 households.

The village lies east of the border river Drina. Gracanica is located north of the capital town Ljubovija.

Demography

History

In Gracanica remains of a basilica have been found dating from the 4th century. Some finds from the Middle Ages have been found.
