Grace Meng

Grace Meng (Chinese孟昭文, Pinyin Meng Zhaowen, born October 1, 1975 in Queens, New York City ) is an American politician. Since 2013, it represents the New York State in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Grace Meng attended Stuyvesant High School. She then studied until 1997 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After a subsequent law degree from Yeshiva University in New York and their 2002 was admitted as a lawyer, she began to work in this profession. At the same time they hit as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 2009 and 2012 she sat as deputies in the New York State Assembly. There she was a member of six committees.

In the congressional elections of 2012, Meng was in the sixth electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where they on 3 January 2013, the successor of Gregory Meeks took, who joined in the fifth district. She is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Small Business and in two sub-committees. She also serves on the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.

Grace Meng is married and the mother of two sons. Private family lives in Queens.
