Graecostasis
The Graecostasis was the meeting of the Greek ambassador in the Roman Forum.
It was located opposite the Curia near the Rostra and was probably somewhat increased ( cf. Varro 1 1 5, 155, and Pliny, nat. 33, 19). To determine the position can serve Pliny's statement ( HN 7, 212) that the lunch hour had come when the sun between Graecostasis and Rostra stood. Whether it was just a kind of platform or a real building in the Graecostasis, is not entirely clear. As part of the redesign of the Comitium and laying the Rostra under Caesar and Augustus the Graecostasis was dissolved.
