Graetz number

The Graetz number ( Gz, according to Leo Graetz ) is a dimensionless parameter in the field of forced convection. At a steady state flow, wherein the residence time is constant in the pipe sections, it is the reciprocal of the Fourier number. Thus it expresses the ratio of convective heat transferred to the heat dissipated.
