Green Street (MBTA-Station)

Green Street ( shown on the signs as Green ) is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides access to the metro line Orange Line.

History

The station was opened on May 4, 1987 in parallel to the Northeast Corridor as part of the renovation and relocation of the Orange Line. It is a new building of the same name station of the Washington Street Elevated.

Metro Station has a total of two tracks, which are accessible via a central platform.

Building

The metro station is located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood at the address 150 Green Street at 380 Amory Street. The building is completely accessible.

As part of Arts on the Line project, the MBTA, which consists of several sculptures of art " Color Passage" by Virginia Gunter was installed in the station. In addition, located outside the station two granite monuments engraved with texts ( " Drift" by Mary Bonina and "Reflections" by Daria Mondesire ).
