Greg Hancock

Gregory Alan Hancock ( born June 3, 1970 in Whittier, USA, also: Greg Hancock ) is an American speedway driver. He is the only driver who has participated in the World Championships in Speedway since the setting of the format in 1995 at each Grand Prix.

Life

His professional career started Speedway in 1988 when he came up with Billy Hamill from the U.S. to the UK to drive some races there. As early as 1989 he went first race in the first British league. In 1992 he was with Sam Ermolenko pair of world champion and with the U.S. Speedway Team Team World Champion. This title he defended with the American team in 1993. 1993 and 1994, he also qualified for the final round of the Speedway World Championship in singles. He finished 1993 ranked 16th missed the following year in fourth just under the podium because he only finished third in the last race of the event. Had he won the race, he would even become world champion. After the conversion of the format of the World Cup he drove continue successfully. 1997 Hancock became world champion. In 1998 came the third team world title with the American speedway team. After his world title he won third place in 2004 and second place in 2006, two other podium places in the overall standings of the World Cup.

He currently drives in the Swedish League for Rospiggarna Hallstavik and in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga for ZKZ Zielona Góra.
