Greg the Bunny is an American puppet sitcom that parodied Sesame Street, the Muppet Show, and other children's puppet series. The focus is on the hare Greg, a small hand puppet, and his philanthropist Jimmy, played by Seth Green.
Background
Originally, Greg the Bunny Sketch a series of half-hour comedy series amateur " Junktape ", produced by Dan Milano, Spencer Chinoy and Sean S. Baker. Soon, the U.S. broadcaster Fox became aware of the success of the series and produced a professional comedy show with stars like Seth Green, Eugene Levy and Sarah Silverman. This resulting series acted in accordance with the Muppet Show, behind the scenes of a show of the same name.
The first season with 13 episodes aired on Fox in 2002. There were initially ordered no further consequences, until 2005, two more squadrons were aired with 14 or 5 episodes by the Independent Film Channel. In German, the series was broadcast on Comedy Central Germany from 2007.
Characters
- Greg the Bunny is a simple hand puppet and star of the show. He is a rabbit doll, which is very proud of his puppets family. According to IFC Greg is the son of a human father and a mother doll.
- Jimmy Bender, played by Seth Green, Greg 's best friend. He first appears on the show produced in 2002.
- Warren the Ape is a monkey hand puppet. In addition to his addiction problems related to alcohol and cigarettes, he himself presents as old extended author and refuses to act in the show. This is due to his lack of stage experience.
