Gregg Araki

Gregg Araki (* December 17, 1959 Los Angeles, California, USA) is an Asian- American film director and film producer.

He lives openly bisexual and one of the founders of the New Queer Cinema. He studied at the School of Cinema-Television from the University of Southern California and graduated in 1982 successfully. He worked as a film critic for the magazine LA Weekly and founded his own production company, Desperate Pictures. Araki was particularly known for his uninhibited low-budget productions like the Teen Apocalypse Trilogy.
