Grégory Gaultier

Grégory Gaultier ( born December 23, 1982 in Epinal, Vosges ) is a French squash player. He is currently world number.

Career

Grégory Gaultier is next to Thierry Lincou the second Frenchman who ever led the squash world rankings. In November 2009, he managed the jump to the top, where he lost this position again in December of the same year. Unlike Lincou him so far not succeeded title at a World Cup. Less than four times subject Gaultier against different opponents in a World Cup finals: 2003 against David Palmer, 2004 against Amr Shabana and 2011 and 2013 against Nick Matthew. At European level, Gaultier is for record winner. Gaultier was 2004-2011 in each of the final since 2004, discharged European championships in singles. Of these eight finals Gaultier won all except 2009 and 2010 when he was forced to retire hurt each against his compatriot Lincou. After he was unable to start due to injury in 2012, he won a total of 2013 seventh title. In 2007, he won against Lincou the British Open. With the French national team, he participated in the World Championships, among others, already in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013. 2003 and 2009 he was runner-up with each of these. The World Games 2013 he won the gold medal for a final victory against Simon Rosner.

Grégory Gaultier is married and has a son.
