The border summit is a 4'618 m above sea level. M. high, little independent Gratzacke on the border between Italy and Switzerland. He is part of the Monte Rosa range, and lies on the border ridge between the silver saddle ( 4'515 m above sea level. M. ) in the north and the border saddle ( 4'453 m above sea level. M. ) in the southeast, where the south-east ridge on Dufour Peak more turns east and branches from the border ridge.

The Border Summit will tackle most of Zermatt ago, or from Station Rotenboden the Gornergrat Railway over the Monte Rosa Hut. It is rarely climbed as a goal, but exceeded on the way to Punta Dufour, especially by the Italian huts Capanna Regina Margherita or the Gnifettihütte. The border also forms the conclusion of the summit ascent through the Monte Rosa east face ( east face of Macugnaga ).
