Grontmij

Grontmij N.V. is a design and engineering company headquartered in De Bilt in the Netherlands. It is, with around 8,500 employees and nearly 300 offices in Europe and a further 50 offices worldwide, the third largest engineering firm in Europe.

History

In 1913 the farmer Doedo Veenhuizen founded a company that specialized in helping farmers against flooding and land reclamation. In 1915 this company has been from the Grontmij NV formed. Since then the company has grown steadily. In August 2006, the Grontmij Carl Bro Group, acquired in June 2010, the French Ginger Groupe.

Grontmij in Germany

The Grontmij GmbH is an independent consultancy and engineering company, which at over 30 locations is active throughout Germany and about 650 employees.

In 2010, merged the earlier societies Grontmij AEW Plan GmbH, Grontmij AEW Control GmbH Grontmij A & T GmbH, Grontmij auweck GmbH, Grontmij BGS Engineering mbH, Grontmij German project Union GmbH, Grontmij GfL GmbH and Grontmij IHP on the Grontmij GmbH. This former subsidiaries with their predecessor companies, which have been incorporated to 100% in the Grontmij GmbH, advice for over 50 years in the German and international market.

Business areas and projects (selection)

The Grontmij GmbH offers its public and private clients services in the fields of Planning & Design, Transportation & Mobility and Water & Energy at. The company's portfolio includes a wide range of space management, building and road over rail transportation equipment, bridge structures and waterways as far as waste management & geotechnical engineering, water & waste water management and environmental and approval management and project management (PKS NETPlan ®).

Among the completed projects include the tender, design, approval and implementation planning of Osthafenbrücke in Frankfurt am Main, participation in the construction of the office building of the German stock exchange in Eschborn and the acquisition of land for the expansion of the 6-lane federal highway 1 between Bremen and Hamburg. In addition, the general planning services up to and including planning permission for a modern combined heat and power plant at Munich airport and the planning of geothermal heating plant Sauerlach. In addition, the management and development plan for nature conservation project " natural and cultural landscape between the seven mountains and victory," and participation in " Green Belt" ( former inner- German border) in Thuringia, where the planning route management and public relations for 400 km of boundary trail and various land consolidation procedures were performed.
