Gross Seehorn

The Great Seehorn is a 3121 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Silvretta on the border of Switzerland and Austria, and has a magnificent, light horn-like pyramidal shape. The first ascent was made on August 26, 1869 by the pharmacist Schoch, Florian Brosi and Emil Hauser, who were actively supported by the leaders of Christian Jann and Chr Jegen.

The Great Seehorn and Großlitzner caused by the Litzner -hochjoch (approx. 2960 m) are separated, are considered the most beautiful mountain peaks of the Silvretta. The normal ascent leads from the Saarbrücken Hut ( DAV) on the Seelücke ( 2776 m) and the west flank or top- northwest ridge to the summit.

Upstream of the west is the Chlein Seehorn ( 3'032 m above sea level. M. ), located entirely on Swiss territory.
