Große Aa

The mouth of the Great Aa in the Ems

The Great Aa is a 25 km long, right or eastern tributary of the Ems in the western Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

It arises in the integrated municipality Freren, near the district Overwater, by the confluence of Deeper Aa and Ahe. From there it flows over Lünne west to Hesselte where you accrue the Speller Aa. Henceforth, it is parallel to the Dortmund- Ems Canal and flows 6 km south of Lingen, a few meters to the north of the channel mouth after the lock Gleesen, in the Ems.
