Großer Pönitzer See

The Great Lake Pönitzer (often called just " Pönitz Lake " ) is a lake in the municipality Scharbeutz - southeast of Pönitz - in a circle East Holstein in Schleswig -Holstein. Just off its northern shore lies the village Pönitz the lake, on its southern shore, the village Klingberg.

It is located in the Holstein Switzerland, surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape. North of it lies the little Pönitzer lake into which it drained by a ditch.

The lake has a round shape with a bay in the north and is approximately 1400 meters long and 1100 meters wide. It has a size of about 108 acres and a maximum depth of 19.2 meters, which he achieved in its center. The lake is fed by over rather insignificant inflows.
