Großfischlingen
Großfischlingen is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Edenkoben.

Geographical location
The wine-growing village located 4 km south-east of Edenkoben between the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest and the Rhine.
History
For the first time Großfischlingen was mentioned in 772 in a document of the Abbey of Lorsch as Fisckilingen.
Religion
In 2007, 57.7 percent of the population Catholic, 26.6 percent Protestant. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

The local council in Großfischlingen consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: " Under blue shield head, in a continuous silver cross, silver three star- shaped crossed blue fish whose top looks upward, while the other two look diagonally left and right diagonally down".
It was established in 1952 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior. The cross reminds us of the former belonging to the Bishopric of Speyer and the fish make speaking the place name dar.

Clubs
In Großfischlingen there are currently 10 clubs. Here was particularly distinguished the Youth Red Cross, which won the German championship in first aid 2005.

Nearest railway stations are Edesheim and Edenkoben on the Palatine Maximilian Railway Neustadt- Wissembourg.
