Geographical Location

Grundsheim lies about 15 kilometers south of Ehingen (Donau).

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north and east Oberstadion, to the south and to the west by Attenweiler Uttenweiler, both in the district of Biberach.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1083 as Grundelheim documented. 1789, the rule of reason home was sold to Prince Karl von Thurn and Taxis, in 1806 the city fell to Württemberg.

The district Riedlingen came in 1809 added to the church, which belonged to the district of Ehingen from 1938. In 1971 she joined the management Munderkingen Community, since 1973 it belongs to the Alb- Donau district.

In the state elections in Baden- Württemberg 2011, the CDU scored in the community their nation's highest profit by 81.9 percent. In 1976, 99.2 percent of the electorate voted for the CDU, in the second votes were then even 100 %.
