Guadiana

Puente Internacional del Guadiana ( Spanish) or Ponte Internacional do Guadiana (in Portuguese ) is a 1991 finished cable-stayed bridge that spans the Guadiana on his last section, a few miles above the mouth in the Atlantic Ocean. Surrounded by a Spanish-Portuguese consortium designed building combines Castro Marim in the district of Faro in Portugal and Ayamonte in the province of Huelva in Spain. Project and construction

The idea of ​​building a bridge over the Guadiana, which the international border between Spain and Portugal is here to replace the outdated ferry, came up in the 1960s, so the governments of Portugal and Spain took up negotiations, a feasibility study on the way to bring.
