Guazapa

Guazapa is a city and a municipality in El Salvador in Central America in the district Tonacatepeque of the department of San Salvador and has 22,906 inhabitants ( 2007) at 63.65 km ².

The city lies at an altitude of 414 m above sea level. NN, 20 km north of the capital San Salvador. It is bounded on the north by Aguilares and Suchitoto ( Cuscatlan ), to the east by Suchitoto and San José Guayabal, to the south by Tonacatepeque and Apopa and to the west by Nejapa and Aguilares.

The most significant phenomenon is the composite volcano Cerro de Guazapa.
