Guido Malatesta

Guido Malatesta (* 1919 in Gallarate, Varese, † June 14, 1970 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Malatesta began after a time as a journalist in 1951 as a screenwriter of films, which left no great impression. From 1956 he has also directed some of the smaller Italian theater productions; in his first, the comedy I miliardari, the TV favorite Mike Bongiorno played the lead role. In the early 1960s he turned some of the then-popular sandals films, including The wanderings of Hercules with Brad Harris. His films aimed at a rather unassuming audience whose taste he met regularly and were torn apart by critics as regularly. His nom -de -film was James Reed.
