Guiry-en-Vexin

Guiry -en- Vexin is a commune of 159 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the landscape Vexin in the department of Val -d'Oise (France), about 50 km north-west of Paris. Its name derives from the Latin personal name Gurrius. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park Vexin français.

In 2006, the city had 164 inhabitants and is ( couverte Allée ) mainly because of the gallery Grabs in the Bois - Couturier with its unique plug-shaped closure stone known. It was founded in 1919 under the direction of Adrien de Mortillet, the son of Gabriel de Mortillets, excavated and belongs to the SOM culture. The chamber measures 7 × 2 meters.

The " plug " is now on display in the museum in Guiry. A cast is in the National Museum in Saint- Germain -en- Laye.
