Gulf of Penas

The Gulf of Penas (Spanish Golfo de Penas, other names: English Gulf of distress; German also Penasgolf ) is a body of water and lies south of the peninsula Taitao in Chile.

While it is open to the west for the storms of the Pacific Ocean, but allows access to some natural harbors. Among them are the Golfo Tres Montes and Golfo San Esteban, the Bahía Tarn and the Messier Channel.

The people of the Caucahue lived there.
