Gulnara Samitova-Galkina

Gulnara Galkina Iskanderowna (Russian Гульнара Искандеровна Галкина, born Самитова - Samitowa, English transcription Samitova, . Born July 9, 1978 in Naberezhnye Chelny ) is a Russian obstacle -, medium-and long-distance runner and Olympic gold medalist.

At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis they finished seventh in the 5,000 - meter race and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens Sixth over the same distance. She was also at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Budapest in 2004 third in the 1500 -meter run.

They had set up on 10 August 2003 the Russian Athletics Championships in Tula 9:08,35 min with a world record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, they undercut in 9:01,59 min on 4 July 2004.

At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, it was over 3000 m steeplechase seventh. My biggest success was the victory at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in world record time of 8:58,81 min at the Olympic debut of the obstacle course for women.
