Gültekin Kaan

Gultekin Kaan (actually Gultekin Kaan Kaynak; * in the 20th century in Backnang) is a Turkish rock musician, singer, composer, lyricist and poet. Much of his backing Divan lives in Saarland.

Life

Kaan worked with Smokie, Erkin Koray, Cem Karaca and Bahadir Akkuzu by Kurt Alan Ekspres. He was a songwriter and producer for German and Turkish acts and co-owner of a recording studio. He published three volumes of poetry and is the author of children's books. With his band Divan Kaan has performed since 1998 throughout Europe and Turkey. After his 1001 album was released divan in Turkey on Sony Music, was released July 27, 2012 his new album Sofra world at Blue Flame ( Rough Trade ).

Music style

Kaan calls his music itself "Oriental Rock Your World ". It is a mixture of Turkish folk and art music with western sounds. The lyrics are magical poetry in Turkish, which are based, among others, the Tales of the Arabian Nights. In Turkey, this kind of music is considered Anadolu rock and in Germany rather than world music.

Trivia

Particular attention aroused a program on Korean radio, the well-known radio host and comedian 유세윤 discussed there humorously the video of the song Perilerin Oyunu from the album Sofra and helped Kaan thus to a huge fan base in Korea.
