Günter Zöller

Günter Zöller Werner Siegfried ( born May 21, 1948 in Chemnitz ) is a German figure skating coach. As a figure skater, he was successful in a single run for the GDR.

Life

Günter Zöller began as a child with figure skating. He trained at Jutta Müller and launched only for the bismuth SC Karl -Marx-Stadt and from 1963 for the SC Karl- Marx-Stadt, so for the GDR. In his career, he was five times GDR champion. In 1967 he defeated in the GDR championships Reinhard Mirmseker, later President of the German Skating Union. At the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble he came eleventh.

After he had continuously increased on the international stage, he was third in 1970, both at the European Championships as well as at the World Cup. Afterwards, however, he was hurt. During the 1972 European Championship in Gothenburg he deposed and fled to the Federal Republic. Here he successfully coached first in Ludwigshafen and from 1974 in Mannheim. From 1985 to 1988 he was also Italian national team coach. He trained in Germany, among others Claudia Leistner, Rudi Cerne, Stefan Pfrengle, Manuela Ruben, Petra Ernert, Nathalie Weinzierl and Canadian Brian Orser and is still coach in Mannheim.
