GuruPlug

The Guru Plug is a compact plug computer with low power consumption, which is delivered with a system based on Debian Linux system. It is offered by the company Global Scale Technologies as a device that can act as a web server, print server, or server to any other network service. It has an internal memory in the form of NAND flash, but also through external interfaces such as USB and microSD storage of data.

The first generation of these devices had no internal moving parts such as fans or disk drives, which let the device operate almost silently. But by a design flaw occurred in this generation often temperature-related shutdowns. The problem was solved by installing a fan, but the appeal as a quiet living room server lowered greatly.

Variations and modifications

The GuruPlug are now available in three variants: Guru Plug Server Standard, Guru Plug Server Plus and GuruPlug display.
