Gustaf Andersson (footballer)

Gustaf Andersson ( born December 6, 1974 in Trollhättan ) is a former Swedish football player. The striker, who has an international match in 2001 for the Swedish national team contested, won in 2006 with Helsingborgs IF the Swedish Cup.

Career

Andersson started playing football in his hometown at Trollhättans BoIS. In 1991 he moved to the youth department of the local rivals FK Trollhättans. In the club he made his debut in 1992 in the fourth division and could cheer the 1993 promotion to the third division. There, the team finished only second to last place and after a defeat at relegation match against Qviding FIF was made of the immediate re descent. In 1996, the renewed championship in the fourth league, however Andersson left the club after the season.

From 1997, Andersson went for Västra Frölunda IF hunting for goals. Again, he could at once celebrate a promotion, the club was champion of Südstaffel the second division and rose to the Allsvenskan. After two years with the club in the first division, he moved before the 2000 season to league rivals IFK Göteborg. In his first season for the new club he scored 14 goals this season, which he placed in the top scorers Allsvenskan behind Fredrik Berglund and Marcus Allbäck third. Therefore, he was appointed at the beginning of 2001 in the Swedish national team and on February 1 of the year came Andersson as his sole use in Jersey the national selection. The team lost their game against the Finnish national selection but with 0:1. In the following two years, he could not keep his eye for goal and also the club 's success did not come.
