Gustavo Napoles
Gustavo Napoles ( born May 11, 1973 in Monterrey, Nuevo León), also known by the nickname El Gusano, dt The worm ) is a former Mexican football player at the position of the striker.
Life
Association
" El Gusano " Napoles began his professional career with his hometown club UANL Tigres, for which he completed a total of 93 games between 1991 and 1995. He then moved to CD Guadalajara, where he spent two stages in a total of five years ( 1995-1998 and 2000-2002 ) and with whom he won the Mexican championship in the summer of 1997.
In the finals against Toros Neza Napoles had made " immortal". After the first leg 1:1 was assumed, Guadalajara won the return leg 6-1 on home soil, of which four goals went to the account of "Match Winners" Gustavo Napoles.
At the end of his playing career, he played in 2005 for the Ecuadorian police sports club Espoli.
National
Three times came Napoles for each half time in the dress of the Mexican National Team used: on 22 September 1993 against Cameroon (1-0 ), on 29 September 1993 against Poland (0-0 ) and on 6 October 1993 against South Africa (4: 0).
