Gustavo Sondermann

Gustavo Sondermann ( born February 17, 1982 in São Paulo, † April 3, 2011 in São Paulo) was a Brazilian racing driver.

Career

Sondermann began his motorsport career in 1998 in karting, where he was active until 2001. In 2002 he moved to Formula racing and joined two years in the Brazilian Formula Renault. After the fifth place in his first season in 2003 Thirteenth. He also appeared in 2003 in the North American Formula Renault, which he finished in 16th place overall. Mid-2004 Sondermann to Europe and started half a season in the British Formula Renault. He finished two races and finished in the top three at the end of the season 14th in the Drivers' Championship. He then competed in the Winter Series of the American Formula Renault and was third in the championship. 2005 took Sondermann no contract as a driver and completed only two guest appearances for Comtec Racing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.

2006 special man returned to Brazil and joined the touring car racing. He went into the Stock Car Brasil Light at the start and ended his first season in eighth place in the drivers' standings. 2007 was special man in the Stock Car Brasil Light. He won a race, got a total of four times on the podium and finished the season on top of the third. This result was overshadowed by the fatal accident of his teammate Rafael Sperafico the season finale at Interlagos.

2008 Special man denied his third season in the Stock Car Brasil Light. He failed to build on the good results of the previous year, and he finished 21st overall. In addition, he was active in 2008 in the Pick Up Racing Brazil and won the championship title in this series. 2009 won Sondermann two races of the Stock Car Brasil Light and finished the season in fourth place in the championship from. In 2010 he went to both the Stock Car Brasil and in the Stock Car Brasil Light. While he finished the Stock Car Brasil in the 31 championship course, it was a victory of the eleventh Stock Car Brasil Light. He also took part in this season to race the Brazilian Mini Challenge and the Brazilian GT4 Championship.

2011 was special man to earn his sixth season in the Stock Car Brasil Light. At the season opener at Interlagos He died, however, after an accident in the Curva do Café. In the rain, he turned and was struck by multiple vehicles. He was taken to hospital, where his brain death has been determined. Sondermann was 29 years old. The accident was similar to the fatal accident Rafael Speraficos from the 2007 season.
