Gutu
Gutu is a 1454 m high city and a district with about 50,000 inhabitants in the province of Masvingo in Zimbabwe.
City and district are agrarian. Professor Hans -Joachim Wenzel of the University of Osnabrück was involved here in the late 1980s the project CARD (Coordinated Agricultural and Rural Development ) regarding rural development policy. As in the rest of the country, crop yields have declined dramatically after the land reform. Under-and malnutrition are widespread. An increasing impoverishment of the people are exacerbating this situation.
Gutu has primary and secondary schools, hospitals, and an airstrip.
