Gyllene Tider

Gyllene Tider ( Golden Times ) is a Swedish pop group.

Band History

The group founded in 1978 by Per Gessle and Mats Persson. Micke Andersson, Göran Fritzon and Anders Herrlin complete the quintet. The 1979 published song Billy helps to record contract, the Gyllene Tider LP is released in 1979 and gained enormous popularity in Sweden. However, the best-selling album of the group 's Moderna Tider (1981). More albums followed.

The attempt in 1984 to conquer the world market under the name Roxette and English language titles, fails. Only in 1989 did succeed Per Gessle Marie Fredriksson together with the international breakthrough as Roxette.

1989 Gyllene Tider separate, but in 1995 it comes to reunification, which is initiated by a now legendary concert in Halmstad. Then there is a great tour.

The year 2004 was marked by the 25th anniversary of the band. Gyllene Tider released the new album " Finn 5 Fel! " and completed an anniversary concert tour of Sweden with 21 concerts and around 490,000 visitors.

With the title " Run Run Run " Gessle's Roxette Marie Fredriksson partner acts as a background singer.

  • Her song was chosen Sommartider all time best Swedish summer hit.
  • The album Heartland was sold in the U.S. as Roxette album and contained only 6 tracks.
