H. J. Blackham

Harold John Blackham ( born March 31, 1903 in Birmingham, † January 23, 2009 in Hereford ) was a British humanist. As a writer, he studied philosophy and history.

Life

Blackham was first a member of the Ethical Union. He had significant portion of their transfer to the British Humanist Association, the first managing director, he was in 1963. He was also a founding member of the International Humanist and Ethical Union ( IHEU ) of which he was in the years 1952-1966. He was of the IHEU with the International Humanist Award (1974 ) and the Special Award for Service to World Humanism (1978 ) excellent.
