H. J. Heinz Company

The HJ Heinz Company in Pittsburgh is an American producer of branded foods. The company is a market leader in branded food in more than fifty countries of the world. The company is best known for its ketchup. The value of the brand " Heinz" is estimated by the company at 2.5 billion U.S. dollars.

Company History

The origins of the company go to the 1869 in Sharpsburg (Pennsylvania) by Henry John Heinz ( 1844-1919, son of German immigrants ), founded Heinz, Noble & Company back. The Heinz Tomato Ketchup, the most famous product of the company, was invented in 1876. 1886, the company to sell its products in the UK began. Two years later the company was renamed HJ Heinz Company.

On February 14, 2013 it was announced that Warren Buffett is Heinz of Berkshire Hathaway and the financial investor 3G Capital acquired. The purchase price is 28 billion dollars. In October 2013, McDonald's announced plans to end his forty year relationship with Heinz. Reason was the company's takeover by Bernardo Hees, who worked at rival Burger King in front of it.
