Curriculum vitae

After studying at the Royal College of Science in London in 1902, he went to the USA where he worked for Marconi. On his return to England he applied for in 1913 his first patents in the field of telecommunications. There were other patents in the area of the then current tubes and broadcasting equipment. Total Round received 117 patents. The Marconi electron tube was V24 developed in 1916 by Round 55 and amplifier was used in the Marconi Type. This amp worked up to 1 MHz. Therefore, the V24 is considered the first RF triode.

LED

1907 Round discovered that inorganic materials can be excited by applying an electrical voltage to the lamps. This round effect is the basis of today's LED.
