H. Johannes Wallmann

H. Johannes Wallmann ( born February 23, 1952 in Leipzig) is a contemporary composer from Berlin.

Life

Johannes Wallmann is the son of theologian Henry Wallmann, he studied in the years 1968 to 1973 in Weimar Music and was the 1980/81 master students in composition of Friedrich Goldmann at the East Berlin Academy of Arts. His works include compositions for landscape sound and surround sound for chamber music and orchestral music as well as musical combination and self- organizing systems. He developed the basis for a new aesthetic theory and ended after many years in 2005 to work on a book entitled Integral Modern - Vision and Philosophy of the Future ( Pfau -Verlag 2006), based on an interdisciplinary basis, an alternative concept of cultural democracy ecolonomy Ethics designs. 2009 he published his book The turn went wrong - or why biography is more than just a purely personal matter in which he, inter alia, to with the consequences of Nazism and real socialism dealing ( culture Kadmos ).

1975-1979 Johannes Wallmann was a member of the Staatskapelle Weimar. In 1977 he founded the New Music Group Weimar, which he headed until 1986. In 1980 he was awarded the Hanns Eisler Prize. He was awarded the Hans- Stieber - price as part of the Halle Music Days 1981. From 1976 to 1986, he received a " philosophical art training " by the painter Kurt W. Streubel. Music in space with images of Streubel, commissioned by the Wind Ensemble Berlin - In this time " Synopsis " was born. Since then, he is deeply involved with parallels and connections between visual arts and music, and interdisciplinary issues.

In 1986, Johannes Wallmann a cultural-political founded exit visa and was able to leave the country in 1988 with his family to West Germany. In 1990 he initiated the interdisciplinary Bauhütte Klangzeit Wuppertal. At its artists and scholars from all over Germany and many other countries were involved. With the sound Bauhütte time he drew on those ideas of the Weimar Bauhaus aimed at cultural renewal and the integral interaction of the arts. Developed in 1991/92 for the first international sound art festival Klangzeit Wuppertal and realized the artists of the Fabric Klangzeit numerous sound art projects for the public Wuppertal city and the landscape.

Johannes Wallmann poses with his work among others. concrete contexts forth between music and architecture, music and scenery. Many of his works he composed specifically for architectural and landscape conditions. As he wrote in 1996/97 for the Berlin Cathedral interior sound - music in the room for four orchestral groups and sopranos, 2002 Man- Do - music in space for the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, 2003/ 04 for the Woerlitzer Park ( UNESCO World Heritage) The blue sound - Landscape sound composition for each other, distant vocal and orchestral groups.

Of his works produced numerous radio recordings, for example, Germany Radio, MDR, NDR, BBC, WDR, HR, SR and BR. Some of his works, such as the bell Requiem Dresden - Composition for 129 networked Dresden church bells ( premiere on February 12, 1995 in Dresden), sound rock Helgoland - Landscape sound composition (premiered on 31 August 1996 at 850 meters of the cliffs of Helgoland ) or internal sound (premiered on June 7, 1997 at the Berliner Dom) were broadcast live on the radio.

Johannes Wallmann took over teaching in the Department of Architecture at various universities on topics such as Acoustic Ecology and the city as a sound space. For his work he received numerous awards and invitations.
