H.C.M. Constanţa

HCM Constanţa is a Romanian handball club from Constanţa. HCM Constanta plays in the Romanian League Naţională. In 2013, the men's team won for the eighth time in club history, the Romanian championship. The home ground is the Sala Sporturilor with a capacity of 1,500 spectators.

History

The handball section was founded in 2002. The team was the first time Romanian champions in the 2003/04 season. Thus they qualified for the upcoming season for the Champions League where they were eliminated in the group stage against Barcelona and SC Szeged last. It was only second in the league and qualified for the European Cup Winners 05 /06 release. There they came to the semifinals, then lost to BM Valladolid. In the championship, you could celebrate the second title and the Cup was celebrated the first victory of the club's history. In the season 06/ 07 we celebrated the third title and difference again in the group stage of the Champions League. In the following season one was only second in the championship. In the Champions League they played against THW Kiel and Montpellier HB, which led to early exit again. In the 08/ 09 season again was followed by a win in the championship. The European Cup Winners' Cup was a success similar to three years earlier, only one was eliminated in the quarter-finals again against BM Valladolid. The following season was the most successful so far in the club's history. It abolished the fifth Handball Championship and the Champions League reached you, thanks to a new game system of EHF, the knockout stages. One dropped out after two defeats against KC Veszprém. In the season 2010/11 they won the sixth championship with an eight- point lead over second-placed SKCZ Odorhei. In the Romanian Cup they won against CS Energia Targu Jiu with 35:28 the final and was able to celebrate the second Cup title in club history. What consecutively eligible for the next season to third place in the Champions League. It is different in the season already in the group stage, after which one of the HC Bosna Sarajevo only fifth in this group was only one point behind.
