Description

Haageocereus fascicularis growing shrubby branched from the base, ascending to erect, gray-green stems that reach a length of 0.5 to 1 meter in diameter 4-7 cm. There are eleven to 18 blunt ribs available. The one to two straight central spines are 4 to 15 inches long. Seven to ten spreading spines have a length of 1 to 4 centimeters.

The white, fragrant flowers reach a length of 7 to 8.5 centimeters. Your Perikarpell and the corolla tube are covered with reddish hair and dandruff. The egg-shaped fruits are bright red.

Distribution and systematics

Haageocereus fascicularis is widespread in Chile from Arica to by Tarapacá.

The first description as Cereus fascicularis place in 1833 by Franz Julius Ferdinand Meyen. Friedrich Ritter presented the type 1980 in the genus Haageocereus. Synonyms are Echinocactus fascicularis ( Meyen ) Steud. (1840 ), Trichocereus fascicularis ( Meyen ) Britton & Rose (1920), Weberbauerocereus fascicularis ( Meyen ) Backeb. (1941 ) and Cactus fascicularis Meyen (1834 ).
