Haakon Shetelig

Haakon Shetelig (* June 25, 1877; † July 22, 1955 ) was a Norwegian archaeologist. Since 1901 he worked as a curator at the Bergen Museum and was from 1915 to 1942 professor at the University of Bergen.

Life and work

Shetelig and Swedish writer Gabriel Gustafson 1904-1905 initiated the excavation of the Oseberg ship at the Oslo fjord.
