Hachez

The Hachez chocolate GmbH & Co. KG is headquartered in Bremen has, since its inception on July 1, 1890, the production of chocolate.

History

Hachez was founded by trained in Antwerp Chocolatier Joseph Emil Hachez from the ramified Bremen merchant family Hachez. In 1953, the company participated in Zertus Hachez, 1987, she took over Hachez completely. In 2000, the brand Hachez and Feodora were bought together by two managers of Zertus GmbH, have always been independent again.

Hachez today produces high-quality chocolates and chocolates with a high cocoa content partly in more traditional way in high price segment.

On April 19, 2012 it was announced that Hachez was completely sold with immediate effect to the Danish manufacturer toms. The brands Hachez and Feodora are to be retained for the time being. What will happen to the employees, is still uncertain.

Feodora

1826 founded Friedrich Theodor Meyer in Tangermünde a sugar refinery, and still exists today under the name Zertus GmbH. 1910, the company started with the production of chocolate and pralines under the product name Feodora, named after Princess Feodora of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Augustenburg. She was the youngest sister of Auguste Victoria, the last German Empress, who gave permission for the use of the name " Feodora " after the death of Feodora. After the Second World War, the company moved to Hamburg. Chocolate production was continued on behalf of the company Bremer Hachez. After a participation in Hachez finally followed the complete takeover and eventually a sale to the management including the trademark of Feodora. 2000 Feodora brand was bought with the brand Hachez of two managers of Zertus GmbH and has since become independent.

Chocoversum

Since 2012 Hachez operates the Chocoversum in Hamburg Meßberghof, a permanent exhibition on chocolate making.
