Hackerspace Global Grid

The Hackerspace Global Grid is a project with the aim to build a distributed sensing and communication network. It was the summer of 2011 by Armin Bauer ( shackspace ), Andreas Hornig ( Constellation Platform) and initiates Gregor Jehle ( shackspace ), was called as at the Chaos Communication Camp 2011 to call a space program for hackers to life. Hackerspace Global Grid to provide this necessary communication infrastructure.

The long-term goal is to determine the distributed sensor network and antenna near-Earth satellites and the position to be able to communicate with them. In addition, the platform is open to other sensors, such as for the detection of the earthquake to integrate the measurement of background radiation or weather data. Currently, the system is able to track aircraft positions, which are transmitted by ADS-B of the aircraft.
