HAL HT-2
The HAL HT -2 is a trainer aircraft of the Indian manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics.
History and construction
The HT-2 was the first in India developed and went into series production engine-driven aircraft. Was Constructs a beginner trainer aircraft of Dr. VM Ghatge, the chief engineer of HAL. The aircraft was a cantilever low-wing monoplane with a conventional tail unit and fixed landing spur wheel chassis. In the cockpit, the seats of the teacher and the student were in a row. Was powered the machine from a Cirrus Major III piston engine with 116 kW. Later there was a partial conversion of the machines on Lycoming AEIO -320- D2B with 160 hp as were not enough spare parts available for the Cirrus Major III engines. Several machines were used in civilian flight schools.
