Half Moon ( Kurdish: Niwe Mang / Nive Heyvê; Alternative Title: Half Moon) is a film by Bahman Ghobadi, who was both a screenwriter and director, from 2006 Crescent is a co-production of the countries Austria, France, Iran and Iraq.. Action

Mamo, an old well-known Kurdish singer from Iran, plans to give his ten sons one last concert in Arbil. The concert will be a cry for freedom. But the village elders warn Mamo front of it and say that a disaster will happen to him if he takes the trip.

But Mamo, who waited a full seven months for the visa, can not stop from the trip. Move Mamo wants the singer Hesho take that lives with other women in the village of 1334 exiled singers. Despite protest of his sons he takes Hesho with. However Hesho is discovered and arrested, because women in Iran must not sing from the Iranian border guard. Three of Mamo's sons are also sent back because of missing papers. The trip turns out to be long and dangerous. On the way musical instruments are destroyed and Mamo loses more and more sons. Sick and without instruments and singer resigned Mamo. Hope comes with the girl Nîwemang or Palpalo. She wants to bring Mamo via Turkey to Iraq. But Mamo does not survive the trip, and dies.
