Halti

The landmark 303B marks the highest point of Finland.

The Haltitunturi (short: Halti, also: Haltiatunturi; North Sami Haldi; Swedish Haldefjäll ) is a Fjell ( Tunturi ) in Norway and Finland. With a height of 1324 meters it is the highest mountain in Finland.

The Halti is located in the extreme northwest of the country in the province of Lapland, on the border with Norway. The highest summit of Halti massif, the 1365 meter high Ráisduattarháldi is located on the Norwegian side about two kilometers north of the border. The height of the highest point in Finland has long been given as 1328 meters, but in fact this measurement point is just on the Norwegian side. The highest point on the Finnish side has a height of 1324 meters. The mountain peak is only 25 km ( straight line ) from the sea ( Kåfjord in the Norwegian county of Troms ). The shortest rise takes place from the Norwegian side.
