Hamline University

The Hamline University is a private university in Saint Paul in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

History

The Hamline University was founded in 1854 as a Methodist private university in Red Wing, Minnesota. Your name is derived from the Methodist Bishop Leonidas Lent Hamline, the $ 25,000 allowed for the establishment of the university with a private donation of U.S..

The Hamline University was the first higher education institution of the state. Since its inception, students are taught in coeducational Hamline, which was a rarity in the U.S. of the 19th century. Today Hamline has about 4,400 students.
