Hammuda ibn Ali

Hammuda al -Husayn (also Hammuda Bey ) was ruler of Tunisia from 1782 to 1814 and belonged to the dynasty of the Husainiden ( Husseiniten ).

During his reign there were 1807-1812 war with Algeria. In an effort to end the tribute of his country to Algeria, he besieged Constantine in 1807, but was expelled again. After several unsuccessful Algerian counter-attacks (1807-1812) took place, which led to a peace treaty brokered by the Ottomans, which was signed in 1821.
