Han Changhoon

Han Changhoon (* 1963 in Yeosu, Jeollanam -do) is a South Korean writer.

Life

Han Changhoon was born in 1963 in Yeosu, Jeollanam -do. He studied at the Hannam University. 1992 debuted the author of the story, the anchor ( 닻 ), which was published in the newspaper Daejon Ilbo.

Motifs such as sea and island are mean in Han Changhoons stories, often in the form of nostalgia. The reason for this lies in its origin from the port city of Yeosu. Thus, the characters of his works often carry memories of the lonely seascape in her heart with motifs such as blue-black waves, desolate beaches where the wind blows or rough fisherman hands. An image of home is created in relation to people who burdened with worries in impoverished rural areas or live in the city edges. Island, I live at the end of the world ( 섬, 나는 세상 의 끝 을 산다 ) consists of 12 stories, they consist inter alia of a man who lives alone on an island, a woman who lost an island in memory of their old Love attended, an old man who lost at sea floating around up to Jeju -do and a violent husband, who again meets his wife fled to a back-lit by the moon beach. In these stories, the sea is represented as the life that gives an insight into the secrets of existence. Although Han Changhoon addressed the suffering of the socially and economically disadvantaged, lead his characteristic modesty and sensitivity to the fact that he finds beautiful and psychological detail in any situation and the characters optimism, and faith in the good in people mitgibt so that they of the difficulties can withstand life.
