Hàn Mặc Tử

Hàn Mac Tu ( born September 22, 1912 as Nguyễn Trọng Trí Quang Binh province, † November 11, 1940 ) was a Vietnamese poet. He was one of the pioneers of modern Vietnamese poetry and wrote the first poet in the style of " chaotic " (loan ) and "mad " ( Dien ) schools of poetry. He wrote his work under his own name and under the pseudonyms Le Thanh Phong and Trần.

Hàn Mac tU came from an underprivileged family, his father died early. In the early years, the talent Hàn Mac TUS for poetry showed. Later he met the Vietnamese activists Phan Boi Chau, who helped to shape his views. Hàn Mac tU died at the age of 28 years from leprosy. His resting place is located in Quy Nhon.

In his works Hàn Mac tU wrote poetry, in which he often talked about his relationships with various women with whom he was more or less well known, and of which he wrote, because it seemed important in his life. With some it was only in the written exchange of other women in his works it was only the name of the one described known.

His most romantic poems are still known and popular, and are generally seen as a great moment in Vietnamese poetry. Some of his poems have been adapted as a lieder. As before, the poems of Hàn Mac tU subjects taught in Vietnamese schools.
