Han-na Chang

Chang Han -na ( born December 23, 1982 in Suwon ) is a South Korean cellist and conductor.

She won in 1994 with 11 years of the Grand Prize of the Rostropovich Festival. After this performance, both Mstislav Rostropovich and Mischa Maisky promised her to promote it further. 1997 and 2003 she won the Echo, the 2004 Cannes Classical Music Award.

In May 2002, she played the opening concert at the Asian Music Festival in Seoul.

She plays a Guadagnini cello.

At present, it is registered as a philosophy student at Harvard, but makes straight ( 2006) break from studying.

In December 2010/January 2011 Long Chang worked for two weeks along with the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra. During this time, Tchaikovsky's " Francesca da Rimini" were rehearsed and the Symphony No. 5 by Dimitri Shostakovich. Chang led the orchestra in five concerts in Bavaria, such as at the Munich Philharmonic. From 2012 she is artistic director of the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra.
