Han Qide

Han Qide (Chinese韩启德; * 1945 in Cixi, Ningbo, Zhejiang) is a Chinese physician and politician of Jiusan Society, one of eight accredited political parties other than the Communist Party of China, and among others, since 2003 Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Life

After schooling Han Qide studied 1962-1968 medicine at Shanghai Medical College and then worked as a doctor. Between 1979 and 1982 he completed postgraduate studies at the University of Medical Sciences in Xi'an and was then a teacher at the Department of Nephrology, Beijing Medical College. After he completed another postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta (Georgia ). After his return, he was from 1987 to 1988 Lecturer for Pathophysiology at the Medical University of capital.

He then became in 1988 director of the cardiovascular Medical Institute of this university-affiliated hospital No. 3, before he was Vice President of the Postgraduate School of Medicine University of capital between 1995 and 2000. In 1997 he was admitted as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

During this time he became in 1998 a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese people and was part of this body until 2003. Since 2000 he has been President of the Peking University Health Science Center. At the same time, he was from 2002 to 2002, both Vice- Chairman of the Jiusan Society in Beijing, as well as Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, a body approved by eight parties outside the CCP.

Since 2002, Han Qide is Chairman of the Central Committee of the Society Jiusan and thus the chairman of this party. In addition, he was between 2002 and 2003 Vice- chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and Executive Vice President of Peking University and the President of the Medical Faculty, the PKU Health Science Center.

Since 2003 he has been Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, a 150 - member panel of the National People's Congress, which shall carry out the work of the parliament between the sessions planner.
