Han Yueshuang

Yueshuang Han (Chinese韩 月 双, Pinyin Hán Yuèshuāng, born November 6, 1982 in Jilin, China) is a former Shorttrackerin from Hong Kong. She participated in two Olympic Games.

In September 2001 Han Yueshuang debuted in Changchun in the World Cup over 1500 m they reached the semi-finals here. Two years later she launched in Warsaw for the first time at the World Championships. There, however, she was eliminated in their heats. Further deployments in the national team got Han Yueshuang in the season 2004/05. It started with the two World Cups in Asia and reached as the best result in a 1,000 m race the quarter-finals. At the World Championships in Beijing, she retired after the heats. The following season, 2005/ 06 Han participated in all four World Cups and was able to achieve two quarter-finals over 1500 m. She qualified for the Olympic Games in Turin, where she started all three distances, but left each in the flow.

In the season 2006/ 07 Han again took part only in two World Cups in Asia, but without reaching the final rounds. In the two following years, Han launched only a few international races, but participated in the 2008 World Championship in Gangneung in Vienna in 2009 in part, without being able to survive prelims. In the 2009/10 season Han started again in all four World Cups and reached its best result over 1500 m once the quarterfinals. They first failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Vancouver. But as her teammate Wang Xinyue who had previously qualified, was not allowed to start because of a missing passport, Han Yueshuang took part in the Olympic competitions as a substitute. It started again about all three distances, but different turn from their heats.

In both Olympics was Han Yueshuang only participant from Hong Kong and was also at the opening ceremony the flag.
